About me
I have gained a rich and varied experience helping adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds through my ten years of experience working as a social worker in the NHS and training in Cape Town, South Africa. I have specialised and completed a Masters in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths, University of London working with adolescents and adults.
My practice offers a kind, caring and safe environment where you can speak openly and honestly to help get to the root of the problems that you may be struggling with.
My goal is to help you gain insight and awareness about yourself, your relationships with others and overall to help you cultivate a healthy sense of purpose, wellbeing and quality of life.
As a psychotherapist, I have worked with two homeless charities and have experience working with individuals who suffer from severe mental health difficulties including PTSD, childhood trauma, depression, and drug and alcohol difficulties.
Therapeutic process
The therapeutic process may be for a defined length of time at the start but is usually a long-term commitment. I offer individual therapy to adolescents and adults. Sessions are 50 minutes on a weekly basis.
Please email or call to book for an introductory session. The initial meeting will help me to understand your personal history and the reasons you are seeking therapy. It will also enable me to assess whether we are a good fit. Following the consultation we will set a specific period for the therapeutic process or - more usually - leave it open- ended. During the course of therapy, we will have regular review sessions. These review sessions will occur approximately every six months.
